About Us
For Parents The concept of Dramaworks was originally formed in 1999 and a unique package was created which would be very successful for all ages. Julia Martin is now the company director and main facilitator of workshops and tuition groups. She had previously been Head of Drama at Millais School , Horsham and Farlington School, Horsham. It is an original format which is underpinned by a strong educational philosophy but which encompasses a huge element of fun!
We believe that Drama’s value goes beyond the stage and that it gives real training for life.
Dramaworks for Life
"All the world is a stage..." Shakespeare knew this, and Dramaworks gives children the best platform to develop the vital communication skills to launch them into life. Drama is stress busting and liberating- all the tensions of the week disappear and children feel confident and energised during and after the sessions. Drama helps children make friends and learn empathy with others. Drama makes children laugh! Dramaworks for success in school Yes, Really! There has been a great deal of educational research which shows that Drama develops the right hand side of the brain which controls conceptual thinking and problem solving – essential for maths. The development of imagination and empathy which Drama engenders are also valuable in reading, history and even science! If you can imagine how a butterfly emerges from a pupa, how much more memorable is it? Dramaworks for success in work Now more than ever, it is important for young people entering further/higher education to be able to sell themselves and we run targeted interview /presentation courses for small groups or individuals. Email for further information or request a call back. These can be tailored to fit in with the LAMDA intensive courses thereby giving young people the opportunity to gain qualifications and interview skillls at the same time.
